INCI stands for International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients. We publish all ingredients according to this official nomenclature, with a functional explanation per ingredient: what it does and why it is included.
The NO-list is a published list of ingredients we never use under any circumstances: sulphates (SLS, SLES, ALS), parabens, synthetic fragrances (parfum/fragrance), PEGs and silicones. View the complete NO-list.
Ingredients are listed in order of concentration (highest first). We add a functional explanation per ingredient so you know exactly what each ingredient does.
Sulfates like SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) and SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulfate) are harsh cleansing agents that can dry out and irritate the skin. Our body bars cleanse with saponified plant oils, which is gentler and more caring for the skin. Read more →
Parabens (methylparaben, propylparaben, etc.) are synthetic preservatives. We make solid products (body bars), which simply don't require preservatives. Read more →
Perfume or fragrance is a collective term for synthetic fragrances whose exact composition does not need to be disclosed. Essential oils are distilled from plants and listed with their full INCI name (e.g. Pogostemon Cablin Oil for patchouli). Read more →
PEGs (Polyethylene Glycols) are synthetic emulsifiers and penetration enhancers. They can compromise the skin barrier and drive other substances deeper into the skin. We use plant-based alternatives.
Silicones like dimethicone give a silky feel but form a film on the skin that can clog pores. They are not biodegradable. We choose plant butters and oils that truly nourish the skin.
No. We do not use palm oil due to formula control, traceability and texture. The properties that palm oil offers, we achieve with coconut oil, shea butter and olive oil. Read more →
Not all products are vegan. Patchouli NO 1. contains, for example, honey (Mel) and collagen (Hydrolyzed Collagen). Always check the full INCI list per product on the product page.
Exclusively from essential oils. We do not use synthetic fragrances (parfum/fragrance). Each scent is listed with its official INCI name.
Some allergens such as limonene or linalool occur naturally in essential oils without being added. This must be declared under EU regulation above a certain concentration.
Body bars last at least 12 months after opening. Store them dry between uses. A soap dish with drainage holes extends their lifespan. Read more →
No. We do not conduct animal testing and only work with suppliers who also do not. This is in line with the EU Cosmetics Regulation.
